First of all allow me to tell you about the recent changes to Murray Reeds and introduce myself, I am Douglas Murray and Murray Reeds was established 12 years ago by my brother Jim. Recently Jim was offered a position in Western Australia to take over Western Australia Police and the opportunity came along to take over the Murray Reeds.

I have always strived to obtain the best possible tone in my bagpipe and know how important this is for every piper to make progress in their piping and enjoyment for this great instrument that has been passed on to us, and taking over Murray Reeds gave me the opportunity to take this to a new level.

I believe perfection in tone of the chanter and the drones is something that will always be on every pipers agenda, soloist and band alike.

Based near St.Andrews, Fife, Scotland we produce fine cane pipe chanter reeds and cane drone reeds at our workshop. All our reeds are finished to the highest standard and will suite all pipers for strength and tonal quality. It is a well known saying that the” bagpipe is 90% of the battle “, if you have a good pipe you will play better naturally ,we aim to help you achieve 100% in tone and quality of sound.
