Updated
North Berwick Pipe Band is a historic community band in East Lothian whose purpose is to encourage piping and drumming in North Berwick and the surrounding district. Records place the town’s first formal pipe band in 1900, while the present independent organization was formed from the local Scout band in 1957.
The band wears the MacKenzie Seaforth tartan and the North Berwick coat of arms. It performs at local galas, concerts, Burns Suppers, weddings, massed-band events, and festivals in Scotland and elsewhere in Europe.
North Berwick Pipe Band also provides piping and drumming tuition, supports junior musicians, and welcomes people interested in helping sustain the town’s piping tradition.
