The Los Angeles Scottish Pipe Band was founded in 1961 by Pipe Major Jimmy Thompson, Pipe Sergeant Ian MacDonald and Drum Sergeant Charlie Capperauld. The band found success throughout the 1960s and 1970s, reaching today’s equivalent of Grade 1 and competing until 1974.

WHO IS THE COLORADO EMERALD SOCIETY PIPE BAND? The Colorado Emerald Society Pipe Band is a volunteer organization associated with the non-profit group Colorado Emerald Society. The band is comprised of members of the fire service and law enforcement communities dedicated to honoring OUR FALLEN, and preserving the Celtic heritage of our professions. Our current roster has over 70 members representing over two dozen public safety agencies.

The band chose its name to honor Michael Collins who is regarded as the father of the Irish Republic; and to align itself more closely with its primary patron, the Michael Collins Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH), based in Denver, Colorado.

The Centennial State Pipes and Drums (3CSPD) is a 501(3c)(33) (3tax-exempt) organization based near Denver, Colorado and a full member of the Western United States Pipe Band Association (3WUSPBA). The purpose of the CSPD, as stated in its bylaws, is to foster and promote Celtic and related arts within the community. This is done primarily through the CSPD bagpipe band.
