Johnstone Pipe Band

Johnstone Pipe Band was founded in 1943, the organisation consists of two bands. The senior band competes in Grade 1 and our second band competes in Grade 3B.

Working with Renfrewshire Council, Creative Scotland and The Scottish Schools Pipe Band Trust the band provides piping and drumming tuition in Johnstone High, Linwood High, Gryfe High, Renfrew High and all the associated Primary schools.

In 2017, The band launched a new Novice Juvenile band called Renfrewshire Schools Pipe Band.

The band has a strong tradition in education and conducts Piping and drumming Qualification Board courses and examinations every year. Many members of the band study or have at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and others are also members of the National Youth Pipe Band.

The band has a proud history in the competition arena and has won 5 world Championships in its history.
