City of Melbourne Pipes and Drums
The Space Coast Highlanders is an award-winning bagpipe and drum band located in Brevard County in the State of Florida, USA.
U.S Coast Guard Pipe band
CWO Kevin Gilheany, stationed at the Marine Safety Office Louisana, learned to play the Bagpipes several years ago under the tutelage of LT Steve Young, who is currently assigned to the Telecommunications Information Systems Command in Alexandria, VA.
Palm Beach Pipes and Drums
In the 1960’s and 70’s there was only one pipe band in all of southern Florida. It was the Miami Scottish Bagpipe Band. Ray Cordovez (our Drum Sergeant) was a member. When he moved north to West Palm Beach, the commute to Miami for regular band practice was too far to drive each week.
Brevard Police And Fire Pipes And Drums
Brevard Police and Fire Pipes and Drums was founded on April 13, 2009. The Band maintains a traditional military-style uniform, wearing the Modern Murray of Atholl tartan kilt.
