The Society

The San Andrés del Río de la Plata Association, founded on December 10, 1888, is a non-profit organisation supporting community social, cultural and sporting activities. The Society traces its heritage to the 220 Scottish settlers who arrived aboard Symmetry in 1825 and to its first president, Thomas Drysdale.

The 1888 date refers to the Society’s founding, rather than a separately established date for the pipe band.
