Scotia-Glenville Pipe Band, from the United States, takes third in the novice juvenile competition at the world pipe band championships.

Inveraray & District won first place in the finals, but tied for first in the qualifying round with Scotia.

The band is located in New York, but has players from many different states and Canada.ABOUT THE BAND Founded in 1989 as an enhancement to the Scotia-Glenville School District's Scottish heritage, the Scotia-Glenville Pipe Band is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 /c/ (3) organization.

In 1999 we expanded membership to the Capital District began competing at Pipe Band Competitions New students are provided exceptional instruction and guidance as they progress from practice chanter or drum pad onto pipes and drums.

The Instructional Staff is lead by professional musicians and educators, recognized in the pipe band community for their competitive success in pipe bands and as soloists The band participates in competitions as well as community events to perform and promote the band, Scottish arts, and to raise funds.

Scotia-Glenville Pipe Band is considered a Junior Pipe Band by restricting it"s membership to pipers and drummers between the ages of 8 and 18. We do this allow young players to achieve a far greater potential than they would in a mixed age band. SGPB is the only competing juvenile band in this area and within the entire Northeast.
