About the band
The City of Gisborne Highland Pipe Band is an active community pipe band in Gisborne, New Zealand. The present organization was established in 1966 and has continued a regional Highland piping tradition that extends back more than a century.
The band performs at concerts, civic occasions, and community events while helping learner pipers and drummers develop their skills. Historical records describe the band as a voluntary organization that performed for worthwhile causes, supplied instruments and uniforms, and wore the Cameron of Erracht tartan.
The band welcomes learner and experienced players. Its regular activities and current announcements are published through its Facebook page.
