Rochester Caledonian Pipe Band
Rochester Caledonian Pipe Band is based in Rochester, Minnesota. The band’s heritage traces back to the early 1970s when Pipe Major David Thomas formed The Mantorville Grenadiers. This band proudly carried on a tradition of “bringing bagpipe music to the people” for over 50 years. At the turn of the century, renewed interest in the Highland Bagpipes brought new people and more emphasis on the true Scottish musical expression which was led by Pipe Major Ewan Ferguson. Northport Pipe Band
In 1984, Northport Police Chief Bob Howard got together with members of the local fire department to create what was hoped to be the Northport Fire Department Bagpipe Band. The first meeting was held at the American Legion Hall just off Main Street. About twenty people showed up, each looking to fulfill a personal dream of playing the pipes and joining a centuries-old tradition.
